NO NO NO NO

Don't you hate it when you have something really important that you shouldn't lose or trade in and then you use it way before you need to just because it fulfills a momentary fleeting convenience, and then later your life is about fifty times harder than it needs to be because of it? I think we've all been there, and at least for my peer group it was when we used the Cane of Byrna too soon in Alex Kidd in Miracle World and instead of flying over the big gap had to try to navigate that big screen underwater that was filled with spikes. To this day, whenever I see somebody with a cane I attack them to try to take it from them because as Janken the great is my witness, I'll never go back into that spiky water again.

Those foolish colouring-drones at Universal Press Syndicate have done a great job of rendering the attempted background scenes -- part of the charm of Fred Basset, from a pragmatic standpoint not born of meanness -- as nothing more than strips of colour designed to help the reader more quickly sweep their eyes across the comic, shuddering and hating themselves all the while.

Thing 2 has happened upon a relic of Hades somewhere on his travels with the rest of the children of Midwich, and has subsequently healed the injuries we previously saw him with by summoning a demon and forcing it to knit him back together with necroplasm, not unlike Fred's necroplasmic body since his own resurrection.
Necroplasm or not, Fred will still maul the young lad until he wrests the burning disk from his grasp. Whether this mauling will afflict Thing 2 with the same injuries he previously had depends entirely upon whether or not that French Alex Graham imposter remembers the twins were injured next time he draws them.

Fred is attempting to hide from the malevolent demon soul currently inhabiting Female Owner by feigning sleep, coma, death, or all three. Male Owner has discovered that dressing like Mister Rogers and becoming an indentured servant will soothe the flames of dominance licking at her soul.

I like to think N.E. Butcher isn't actually a butcher at all but instead a newsagent who, when he realised that nine-tenths of the customers visiting his shop were doing so because his surname had led them to believe he was a butcher, bought a white apron and dressed his shop up to resemble a butcher's. By the time people realise their mistake, they've already bought a Woman's Weekly and the latest Puzzler. Dohhhh!
